How to increase the volume of MS voice command
Took long time to search, here it is.
When you upgrade to WM5, MS voice command sound during announcing a call will be very low ( Imate Jaz Jar).
In order to increase the volume , navigate to HKCU\Control Pannel\SoundCategories\VoiceCommand1 Then change the value of AttenuationCategory from 4 to 1
Sound of the voice command will be even higher than the ringing tone.
You can also change the value of InitVol to 40.

WOW, works great, much better than voice tag on Jaz-Jar. I almost lost hope in getting voice command to work on WM5. Thanks Aly
Works on Qtek 9000, thanks
Works great, many thanks.Strange that Microsoft does not put this as a default setting. Without this tweak, Voice command on WM5 is unusable, especially when announcing incoming calls
WOW , that's great, Now I do not need to even put any ringing tone. The announcement is clear, and no need to assign a specific ringing tone per contact. Thanks a lot
Works well on Imate JasJar
Nice! This was just starting to get annoying.
I did this tweak on my Cingular 8125. My default value was 3, but I set it to 1 and it worked great. My Fiance was saying when she called me, there was a girls voice. Well now I know why Microsoft had this option muted by default. When you accept a call when the announcement is playing, especially now that the volume is higher, it is heard by the caller. Just kind of funny.
Thanks, I can now carry my personal assistant in my pocket :) Works great
My wife is jealous from the new family member ! Works great , Thanks
Don't work with my SPV M600
Works great, thanks Majed
Is it necessary/recommended to change the InitVol to 40, as well? If so would you change it via Hex or Dec? Appreciate the time.
No need to change the initvol , however, you can change it in Dec
Doesn't appear to work on the Tytn (Hermes 200)
Worked on my TyTn although still not very loud - did a soft re-set though
Works well with SPV M600, even without soft reset.
This tweak worked great on my Verizon XV6700. I was about to give up on announcing incoming calls. Thanks for posting this!
I have tried to do this all day using Resco Reg editor. I have a Cingular 8525 with WM 6. Voice command does not announce incoming calls at all my phone just rings normally. The registry on mine is hkey_current_user/controlpanel/sound categories/voice command1 I changed Attenuationcategory to 0x1(1)and have intvol at 0x5(5) also tried it at 0x40(40) but no matter what my phone just rings and it does not announce the contact? Any help at all?
"CC" needs to goto Start=>Settings=>Personal tab=>Voice Command, Click on "Phone" then "Options" and check the box that says "Announce Incoming Calls"
Hope this helps
incoming calls announcing seems not work in wm6.0 any tips ?
